Dr. Yousefpour graduated from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2003. He was the chief resident at Jamaica Hospital Medical center, an affiliate of New York University School of Medicine. While at JHMC he was trained by the same podiatric and orthopedic surgeons that provided care for many of New York’s professional sport teams (New York Mets/Islanders). He has performed over 500 foot and ankle cases, and has vast knowledge of diabetic wound care and limb salvage. He has learned various suturing techniques to minimize post-op scarring from very well known and respected plastic surgeons. ” To me the appearance of the scar is a vital part of the overall outcome of the surgery. If the patient is not happy with the appearance of the scar, he/she is not happy with the surgery. Hence, suturing technique, to me, is very important.”
Dr. Yousefpour also has been trained in multiple minimal invasive/ laser procedures for many of the common foot ailments such as heel pain, neuromas (nerve pain), and chronic ankle pain. “Most of these surgeries are performed through 1/2 to 1 inch incision and recovery time is less than 3 weeks. Most patients can return back to light duty work within days of the these surgeries.”
Dr. Yousefpour is a board qualified foot surgeon trained in all areas of foot and ankle surgery. He is Board Qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a member of American Podiatric Medical Association, California Podiatric Medical Association, Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, and honorary member of Stanford’s Who is Who.
